Comp Valve Locks and Retainers

No weight difference between these comp locks/retainers and stockers, however, the quality difference is obvious just by looking at them.  Stock is not perfectly round and in contact around the valves, unlike the comp versions that are precise all around.  I would recommend these for any build, even stock after looking at the quality difference.  Can't say I have heard of any stockers failing, but with the stiffer springs used on performance oriented heads, it would definetly be a good idea to get the best quality retainers/locks you can get.  If you are using the GM LS6 springs, these retainers will fit perfect.  Stock fits loose in the spring unlike the comp retainer which has no slack at all.  Less valvetrain movement side to side equals better valve control. Here is what Comp has to say about their valve locks and retainers.
