Sportsman Ported 3400 Cylinder Heads

 Our Sportsman 3100 heads are designed for performance with all expense spared.  Based on the Competition 3100 heads, without the detail work and available as bare heads for the DIY performance enthusiast.  If you are wanting to compare these to the competition's Stage 1, 2 and 3 heads, we would challenge all 3 in a naturally aspirated setup.  This is a budget head against their  $1450 an $2000 offering!  Save money and get more results.

Priced as bare cylinder heads. Springs, seats/ seals, locks/retainers, milling, and , valve job are all optional.  Options that require other work (i.e. PAC1518 springs require spring pocket modification) have the parts/machine work costs included.

Please include the year of your vehicle so that we can use the right heads for your rocker arms.  1996-2001 are 10mm.  2002 may have either 10mm or 8mm.  2003 and newer are 8mm.

Sportsman Spec

• Best cast 3400 Cylinder heads
• Cleaned, inspected, and glass beaded.  All threads are plugged prior to blasting, so easy installation is assured
• Street/Strip carbide porting on Intake and Exhaust.  Carbide and Sandpaper modified Combustion Chamber
• Valves lapped
• Deck surface free of all gasket material and cleaned

Options

Valves

• 3500 Valves (Best for NA or <12 lbs of boost)
• Manley Race Valves (Best for nitrous and >12lbs of boost)

Springs

• Stock 3400 Springs (Not Recommended for performance applications)
• LS6 Springs (.510" MAX lift, requires LS1 spring seats and different seals)
• Comp 26986 Springs (Best for .510" - .640" lift cams other than fast ramp up rate cams)
• PAC 1518 Springs (Best for fast ramp up rate cams, requires spring pocket machining)

Retainers/Keepers

• Stock (Perfectly fine for any application)
• Manley Steel (Lighter weight, better tolerances and more clearance between retainer and the rocker arm)
• Manley Titanium (Lightest weight, overkill for all but the most extreme RPM builds)

Milling

• None (Might seal the combustion chamber without a problem.)
• Yes (Highly recommended.  .005 available unless they need to be milled more to be flat.  max .020" for ~.1 increase in compression) 

Valve Job

• None (lapped either with stock valves, or with purchased/supplied valves)
• Yes (requires valves to be supplied/purchased.  Best longevity/performance based on application specific valve job)
