The WOT-Tech Competition Manifold Set requires the following torque procedure. Failing to follow these directions may result in a cracked manifold. This is a common issue even for stock manifolds when overtightened, but is even more important with the port work that has been done.

Lower Intake Manifold

Click the picture for the torque sequence 1-8. Apply loctite to threads to keep them from backing out

Center bolts (1-4)

First Pass = 5 lb in (just set tension on all 4 bolts by hand

2nd pass - 62 lb in. Slowly go around in sequence until they are all the same torque. Initially, tightening up 1 bolt could loosen the previous bolt's torque, so going over it several times to ensure

Final Pass = 115 lb in. Repeat previous steps procedure to the final torque spec.

Corner bolts (5-8)

First Pass = 5 lb in (just set tension on all 4 bolts by hand

2nd Pass = 115 lb in

Final Pass = 18 lb ft

The last 4 bolts should follow the same procedure as the first 4, though you may have difficulty in fitting a torque wrench to the 2 buried bolts. Using a wrench to feel what effort it takes to turn the first 4 will give you an idea for how much strength to use on these. A 1/4" torque wrench will be best and is recommended. We just wanted a practical solution for most end users who may only have a 3/8" or 1/2" torque wrench..

Upper Intake Manifold

Click the picture above for the torque sequence 1-6

First Pass = 5 lb in. Just enough to spin the bolts on by hand and have some slight tension.

2nd Pass = 62 lb in. It is important slowly work your way around the manifold in the pictured sequence to get to this torque spec. Tightening one bolt may loosen another, so keep going over them in order until they are all constant.

Final Pass = 115 lb in Repeat the 2nd pass procedure until you are nearly 10 lb ft. GM called for 18 lb ft, which is not necessary to seal the upper to lower.
