Specification

The best porting and valve combination for naturally aspirated use, these 3500 heads are designed from years of flowbench testing port work and valve/valve seat angles and widths.  Use with our matching manifold set for optimal performance.  HP gains from this set of heads with manifolds compared to stock heads and manifolds is 30-80+hp naturally aspirated, depending on what else is done to the engine, if anything.  13.5:1 race motor with race cam designed for 6k max operation custom headers and engine coatings will see the upper end of that range.  Otherwise stock will see at least 30hp.  Coated combustion chambers are worth 5 hp on the otherwise stock motor.

We offer seats/seals, valve springs, retainters, and keepers, or you can take the heads as they sit and assemble your own valvetrain.  Spring pricing includes the valve stem seat/seal setup used for assembly, either stock, or our LS style seat/seal combo.

Springs

  • Comp 26986 - Good for any of the stage 1 type cams.  Torque, Street, and Street/Strip.  Only spring to use stock seat/seal combination.
  • Comp 26915 - Good for the same cams as the 26986, and the Strip cam (Stage 2).  Also good for mild boost Stage 2 Turbo Cam.
  • Comp 26918 - Race cam and similar cams, with spring pockets modified.  Also top pick for the Stage 2 Turbo cam (21 psi+ compatible)
  • Comp 26925 - Double spring with matching retainers.  High boost applications might consider these.
  • PAC 1218 - Good for any of the stage 1 type cams.  Torque, Street, and Street/Strip. Also good for mild boost Stage 2 Turbo Cam.

Retainers/Keepers

  • Stock - Same as the LS1 engines so perfectly fine for all beehive springs we use
  • Manley Steel - Machined keepers are a nicer fit than the stock stamped keepers, and the same is true for the retainers.  Better fit, less weight, and more clearance above the keepers for the valve stem to rocker arm.
